Digital transformation in pursuit of competitiveness will lead traditional industry sectors to create middle and higher-level jobs in at least 30 professions listed by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI) and the National Service for Industrial Learning (Senai).

The projection includes eight industry sectors and was attended by 20 experts, involving representatives of companies, labor unions and universities, as well as analysts from Senai himself.

Called industry 4.0, the new phase already produces transformations in industries such as automotive, food and beverage and oil and gas, integrating the physical and virtual worlds through digital technologies such as internet of things, big data and artificial intelligence.

The automotive sector is among the most demanding professionals for jobs linked to digital transformation, which will bring technologies such as collaborative robotics to the production routine.

According to the study by Senai, between 31% and 50% of companies in the segment will create vacancies of hybrid vehicle mechanic, telemetry specialist mechanic, electronic control unit programmer and vehicular computer technician.

In the food and beverage industry, opportunities are foreseen to create opportunities for food printing technicians, specialist in information and communication technology applications for food traceability, and specialist in food packaging applications.

In the civil construction sector, there are five professions listed: building automation system integrator, dry construction technician, building automation technician, construction site logistics manager and building automation system installer.

Future

With digital transformation spreading across multiple industries, information technology professionals face one of the most optimistic futures and will have opportunities in every sector of the economy.

Among the occupations that are likely to gain the most relevance in this segment are the IoT analyst, the cybersecurity engineer, the security and digital defense analyst, the big data specialist, and the software engineer.

One of the pioneers of the beginning of industrialization in Brazil and worldwide, the textile sector will continue to transform, with new technologies contributing to the design and manufacture of new parts.

Clothing that can emit information from the fabric or from sensors is among the most popular innovations, and professionals such as the fashion product design technician, the textile fiber engineer and the advanced fabric designer will be behind these transformations.

The other ten professions listed are in the fields of Machinery and Tools, Chemical and Petrochemical, and Oil and Gas.

Senai points out that, despite the new opportunities, the scenario will require professionals to maintain a continuous process of updating and lifelong learning, with permanent requalifications.

Social and emotional skills, called softskills, which include the ability to work well in a team and creativity, should also gain in importance.

Business structures tend to be less vertical and require a more collaborative routine to increase productivity, Senai predicts.
